FIG. 03 · DRAFT DIVERTERDraft Diverter
Bolts onto the stack to keep the main and pilot flames lit through heavy downdrafts and rainfall, and blocks undesired aerial objects from entering. The pick for sites with extreme winds.
Leaders in vessel equipment design and production since 1980. Stacks, dampers, stack heads and wind guards: the hardware that pulls combustion air through a natural draft burner and keeps the flame lit in wind, rain and downdraft.
FIG. 00 · STACK SET, AS FABRICATED NOT TO SCALEA natural draft system has no blower to lean on. The stack and its damper set how hard the whole burner breathes.
FIG. 01 · STACK, 4"–30" DIA.Stack design and fabrication from 4" up to 30" diameter, in carbon or stainless steel. The stack is what pulls combustion air through the burner. No blower, no power draw, so it gets sized to the duty, not pulled off a shelf.
FIG. 02 · STACK DAMPERA custom base built for any stack that acts as the air, draft and velocity controller for stack exhaust. Trim the draft to where the flame wants it and leave it there. Offered in carbon and stainless steel.

Downdrafts, crosswinds, rain, blowing sand and snow: everything above the vessel is trying to put your pilot out. Stack heads and wind guards exist so it can't.
Every head bolts to the stack and defends the flame a different way. Pick by what your site throws at it.
FIG. 03 · DRAFT DIVERTERBolts onto the stack to keep the main and pilot flames lit through heavy downdrafts and rainfall, and blocks undesired aerial objects from entering. The pick for sites with extreme winds.
FIG. 04 · ESHBalances ambient air with flue gases to hold a stable draft when wind speeds run below 60 mph or during rainfall, preventing problems like backdraft before they start.
FIG. 05 · ROTATING WIND GUARDA self-rotating guard that aligns itself with the wind, no motor and no adjustment, shielding the flame and holding stable operation as the weather turns.
FIG. 06 · SPARK ARRESTORManages the flow of combustion gases from gas-fired burners. Designed to prevent backdraft, with a spark cell built in for added safety where sparks can't be tolerated.
FIG. 07 · SADDTwo defenses in one head: directs combustion gases and prevents backdraft like a diverter, with a spark cell for added safety. Shortened in the field to SADD.
FIG. 08 · STATIONARY WIND GUARDDirects combustion gases, prevents backdraft and blocks debris (dirt, sand and snow) from getting into the system. Fixed in place, nothing to move or maintain.
Not sure which one? Tell us the vessel and the weather. The shop will pick. This is where most calls start.
| Site condition | Stack head | What it does | Options / materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extreme winds, heavy downdraft, rain | Draft Diverter | Keeps main and pilot flames lit; blocks aerial debris | AL · CS · SS |
| Winds under 60 mph, rainfall | Equalized Stack Head | Balances ambient air with flue gases; prevents backdraft | AL · CS · SS |
| Shifting wind direction | Rotating Wind Guard | Self-aligns with the wind to shield the flame | STD · LOW PROFILE |
| Spark-sensitive locations | Spark Arrestor | Manages exhaust flow; spark cell; prevents backdraft | SPARK CELL |
| Sparks + downdraft together | SADD | Diverter protection with a spark cell in one head | SPARK CELL |
| Blowing dirt, sand, snow | Stationary Wind Guard | Directs gases; keeps debris out of the system | SLIP-FIT · FLANGED |
Vessel equipment design and production since 1980, every unit drawn, filed and re-orderable.
Stack fabrication across the full range, in carbon or stainless steel, sized to the vessel.
Natural draft end to end. The stack pulls its own combustion air, nothing to fail or feed.
The vessel equipment line runs from the fire tube inside the shell to the head on top of the stack, fabricated together, so the whole draft path is matched. If it bolts to your heater treater, line heater, reboiler or dehydrator, we build it, and we keep the drawing.
Send the vessel details and site conditions: we'll size the stack, pick the head and quote the set. Carbon, stainless or aluminum where the design calls for it.
